8 Seater
Mercedes Vito or similar
We normally recommend the 8 Seater for larger groups with several suitcases. It also helps when four adults each have large cases and you don’t want to force everything into a smaller boot. Cruise sailings from Southampton and group runs to Silverstone are typical examples.

Vehicle models are examples only and may vary depending on availability and booking requirements. Luggage capacity depends on passenger numbers. Please tell us about large or additional luggage when booking.
How to choose
If you’re unsure, message us on WhatsApp with:
- Number of adults and children
- Number of large cases and cabin bags
- Any sports kit, pushchairs or odd-shaped items
We’ll say whether the Standard Car is fine or whether the 8 Seater is the sensible option. Getting this right before travel is easier than rearranging on the day.

Child seats
Child seats can be arranged subject to availability. There’s a small charge on the rates page. Tell us the child’s age when you book so we bring the right seat.
Licensing
Spires Taxis is a licensed private hire operator with Oxford City Council. Journeys are pre-booked. Drivers and vehicles used on licensed work meet the requirements that apply to private hire in Oxford.

When should I book the 8 Seater?
If you have more than four passengers, or four passengers with a lot of luggage, for example several large suitcases plus cabin bags. The 8 Seater is typically a Mercedes Vito or similar.
Can I request a specific car?
We allocate a suitable licensed vehicle for the booking. If you need the 8 Seater, say so when you book so we price and plan for that class.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, subject to availability, for the charge listed on our rates page. Tell us ages when you book.
