Oxford to Southampton
Cruise Terminal taxi

Pre-booked private hire from your Oxford address to the cruise terminal named on your documents. We confirm a fixed fare before you travel. Returns from the port back to Oxford are booked the same way.

Why people book a car for this run

A Southampton sailing usually means several large cases, not a cabin bag. Train changes with that luggage are slow, and a last-minute taxi at the docks on turnaround day is a poor plan. A pre-booked car leaves Oxford at an agreed time and goes to the terminal you actually need.

Spires Taxis is an Oxford licensed private hire operator. We do not have an office in Southampton. This is a booked journey from Oxfordshire to the port, with the fare agreed before the car sets off.

Other longer runs from Oxford sit on long distance taxis. Airport jobs, including London City, are on airport transfers.

What’s included once quoted

  • Door-to-door collection from your Oxford address
  • Drop at the named cruise terminal
  • Fixed fare confirmed before travel
  • Standard Car or 8 Seater, depending on people and bags

There is no published Southampton fare on the rates page. Send the date, pickup address, passenger count and ship name for a quote.

Southampton’s cruise terminals

Associated British Ports operates five cruise terminals. They are not next door to each other, so the name on your cruise documents matters.

Western Docks

  • Mayflower Cruise Terminal
  • City Cruise Terminal
  • Horizon Cruise Terminal

Usually approached via Dock Gate 10. Confirm on your documents on the day.

Eastern Docks

  • Ocean Cruise Terminal
  • QEII Cruise Terminal

Usually approached via Dock Gate 4. Confirm on your documents on the day.

Terminal assignments can change between sailings. Send the ship name and, if you have it, the terminal. If you only have the sailing date, tell us that and we will confirm the drop when we book.

Luggage and which car to book

Standard Car is for up to four passengers with normal holiday bags. Cruise cases are often hard-sided and bulky. Four adults with a case each, plus extras, is the point where the 8 Seater is the sensible choice.

Tell us passenger count and how many large cases when you enquire. You book a vehicle class, not a guaranteed make and model.

Getting there, and coming home

For a departure, we work back from the time you need to be at the terminal. Cruise lines set their own check-in windows; we do not publish those. You tell us when you need to arrive, and we set pickup from Oxford accordingly.

For a collection after the cruise, send the ship name, expected arrival date and a mobile we can reach. Turnaround days at the port are busy. We agree a pickup plan when you book. We do not track ships the way we monitor flights on airport jobs.

What to send when you book

  • Pickup address in Oxford or nearby (nearby towns are quoted separately)
  • Travel date and the time you need to be at the terminal
  • Ship name, and the terminal if your documents name one
  • Number of passengers and large cases
  • Whether you also want the return to Oxford

WhatsApp is usually quickest. You can also use the contact form or the customer portal.

Can you collect us when the ship comes in?

Yes, as a pre-booked return. Send the ship name, expected arrival date and a mobile number so we can confirm the pickup plan.
