Chalgrove and nearby villages
Chalgrove, and villages around the towns above, are quoted from the door. There is not a separate page for every village.
Oxford private hire
Spires Taxis collects from towns and villages across Oxfordshire for Heathrow Airport. A Standard Car takes up to 4 passengers and an 8 Seater takes up to 8. Oxford city has a published fare. Everywhere else, we confirm a fixed quote from your address before you travel.
This page is for people who are not starting in Oxford city. A pickup in Bicester, Banbury, Witney or a village is a different journey from a pickup in Headington or at an Oxford college, and it is priced that way.
Spires Taxis is a family run private hire operator licensed by Oxford City Council. You book the whole vehicle in advance. The fare is agreed before you travel, for the address and the terminal you send. Pre booking matters on an early flight, because the car is arranged for that time rather than hoped for on the morning.
If the pickup is in Oxford, use Oxford to Heathrow taxi. That page holds the published city fare, the return prices and the driving notes for an Oxford start. If you are landing and going to an Oxford address, use Heathrow to Oxford. Other airports from Oxford are on airport transfers.
Journey cost and driving time vary with the pickup, the Heathrow terminal and what you need on the day. We do not publish a journey time for each town, and we do not copy the Oxford fare onto another postcode.
The city fare. Standard Car £92 one way. 8 Seater £120 one way.
North Oxfordshire, on the M40. The town page is the place to ask for that pickup.
South of the city, on the A34. Quoted from the Abingdon address, not from Oxford.
West Oxfordshire. A Witney start is its own quote, including a collection back from Heathrow.
The town and the station. Heathrow from Didcot is not the Oxford rate card.
The Vale of White Horse, including Grove when that is the address you send.
There is no separate Banbury airport page. The local page covers Banbury to Oxford. A Heathrow fare is quoted from the Banbury address.
Just north of Oxford, and still a separate quote. The Kidlington page is for local journeys. Heathrow is priced from your pickup.
Further west than Witney. The extra distance is why it is not priced as an Oxford journey.
The Thames corridor. Terminal and flight number when you have them.
No separate airport page. Local journeys sit on the Henley page. A Heathrow transfer is quoted from the address.
Chalgrove, and villages around the towns above, are quoted from the door. There is not a separate page for every village.
Thame already has its own page: Thame airport transfers. It is the same rule. The Oxford fare does not move with you.
These two figures are for a journey that starts in Oxford. They are per vehicle, not per passenger, and they include the standard airport drop off charge. They are not a fare from Bicester, Banbury, Witney or anywhere else.
From any other Oxfordshire address the line is the same: request a fixed quote. The full Oxford airport list is on rates.
Both vehicles are available from Oxfordshire to Heathrow. Tell us how many people are travelling and what luggage you have, and we quote the one that fits.
Up to 4 passengers. The usual car for a couple or a small family with holiday luggage.
Up to 8 passengers. One collection for the group, which is what most people want when several of you are flying together.
Vehicle models are examples only and may vary depending on availability and booking requirements. Luggage capacity depends on passenger numbers. Please tell us about large or additional luggage when booking. See our vehicles.
Transfers can be arranged for Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. Send the terminal when you know it, or the flight number and we will use that.
On the way to the airport we drop you at the terminal you are flying from. We do not promise a named door or a car park. On the way back, the meeting point is agreed when we quote, because the terminal layout decides where a car can wait.
Give us the flight number. We monitor the landing time and adjust if the flight is early or late. You have 50 minutes from the actual landing time to clear immigration, collect your luggage and let us know you are ready. The driver then comes to the agreed pickup point. After 50 minutes, waiting is £10 per additional 30 minutes or part thereof.
That allowance is for a collection at Heathrow. It does not work the same way when we take you to the airport. The detail, including a name board in arrivals when the terminal allows it, is on how airport pickup works.
Yes. Spires Taxis is a family run private hire operator licensed by Oxford City Council. We collect from Oxford and from towns and villages across Oxfordshire for Heathrow. The published Oxford fare applies to an Oxford pickup. Every other address is quoted on its own.
No. The cost depends on the pickup address, the Heathrow terminal and what the journey needs, such as an 8 Seater, a return, or an extra stop. We do not apply the Oxford city fare to another town.
Send the date, pickup address, terminal or flight number, and how many people are travelling. Request a fixed quote on the contact form, by WhatsApp, or by phone. A request is not a confirmed booking until we agree the fare.
A Standard Car takes up to 4 passengers. An 8 Seater takes up to 8 passengers. You book the vehicle, not a seat. Tell us about luggage when you ask for the quote.
Yes. Tell us the outbound time and the flight you want collected on the way back. For an Oxford address, return fares are published on the Oxford to Heathrow page when both journeys are booked together. For any other town, the return is part of the quote.
Give us the flight number. We monitor the landing time and adjust if the flight is early or late. You have 50 minutes from the actual landing time to clear immigration, collect luggage and let us know you are ready. After 50 minutes, waiting is £10 per additional 30 minutes or part thereof. The full account is on how airport pickup works.
The fare we confirm before you travel is the fare for that journey, unless you change the route or add stops. We tell you before any change. Oxford city journeys have published fares. Other Oxfordshire pickups are quoted from the address.
Card and cash. Bank transfer can be arranged in advance for some account bookings. Regular invoiced travel is on business accounts.
Send the town, the date and the terminal. We confirm the fare before you travel. Book online is for an Oxford pickup at the published fare. If you are starting anywhere else, ask for the quote first.
